bowhunter in whatcom county
« on: August 17, 2015, 10:23:48 PM »
I'm hoping to find someone that could show me the ropes with bowhunting in WA and even join me. I grew up rifle hunting central PA and a little bowhunting. I moved to WA 14 years ago and just got back into bowhunting. I have gone out the last couple years but never seem to find them or really know of areas to hunt. This state is so different when it comes to hunting. I also have a 6 year old who is learning how to shoot a bow and really wants to go bowhunting when he is old enough. It would be great to know and understand this area better. I don't mind traveling too near by counties either.

In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

Whatcom County is a tough area to hunt, lots of deer in the low lands on private property. There are some ok public land areas around the foothills. I would say beings your from Blaine to start trying to find someone to allow you to access some property/farms around "H" Street, close to home and lots of deer.

North side of H street there is a logged clearing.  Deer are bedded up in there at night.  On average i saw 12 a day hunting that area last year and a friend and his son noth took does from there.
